Dr. Kamyar R Giglou is originally from Toronto, Canada. As an undergraduate, he attended the prestigious University of Toronto where he graduated with Honors and High Distinction. Upon completion of his undergraduate studies, Dr. Giglou transitioned to the Ivy League and entered the University of Pennsylvania, College of Dental Medicine. While at UPenn, Dr. Giglou excelled in his coursework and realized his passion for the surgical arts. As an undergraduate dental student, he pursued this interest by taking extra course work within the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and by spending extra clinical time learning advanced clinical surgical skills. He served as a mentor to other students and was regarded as a student-leader. Recognizing his dedication to learning and helping his peers to learn, Dr. Giglou was given the “Best Teaching Award” at UPenn during his years there. Dr. Giglou completed numerous electives in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery across the country and ultimately was accepted as a resident in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Boston University.

The residency at Boston University was both rigorous and diverse. Dr. Giglou served in medical and surgical rotations at Boston University Medical Center, Harvard affiliated Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, two Level I trauma centers, and the VA Hospitals. He served as Chief Resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in his final year of residency. This training in unique environments with exposure to comprehensive Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was formative for his career after training.

Dr. Giglou is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a member of Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, Central Florida District Dental Association and the Dental Society of Greater Orlando. He is certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support.

Dr. Giglou is experienced in all areas of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with special interests in dento-alveolar surgery, pre-prosthetic bone and soft tissue grafting, oral reconstruction with dental implants, office-based anesthesia, trauma, and oral pathology and orthognathic surgery.

In his free time, Dr. Giglou enjoys all sports, fitness training, cooking, history and spending time with friends and family.
